Five Questions You Should Ask an Adviser

We suggest that before you discuss your situation wih any financial adviser, you should ask them these 5 simple questions and satisfy yourself that they are the right adviser for you.

  1. Who owns your firm?
  2. Is the firm directly regulated by the FCA, are you independent financial advisers and do you have a statement of professional standing?
  3. What qualifications do you personally hold, and is your firm able to use the title of Chartered Financial Planners?
  4. Describe to me the ongoing service that I would receive from your firm and what it would cost me?
  5. How many client complaints have you had referred to the Ombudsman in the last five years, and what were the outcomes?
